Ambulatory BP Monitoring
In some people, the blood pressure varies significantly and may go to unsafe ranges as well. These days most of us have an electronic BP measuring device at home that shows BP readings with varying accuracy.Your doctor might ask you to get an Ambulatory BP monitoring if he suspects a lot of variations between each readings and fluctuations in various readings. An Ambulatory BP monitoring is done at the convenience of the patients home thereby reducing possibilities of white coat apprehension (fear of clinics, hospitals or doctors). Blood Pressure is measured continuously by a device attached to the patient to extract details of a rise or fall of BP through the 24 hour period and several other clinically important details. Your doctor will use this data to find the right drug for you.
Continuous Blood Glucose Monitoring
A small device is attached on the arm of a patient to continuously detect blood glucose at a predefined period and electronically send data to mobile or other device. As this is a relatively small waterproof device it will cause minimal discomfort to the person wearing it. Fortunately it is wireless, so you do not have to feel like a patient! This device monitors blood glucose for a period of 7-14 days as advised by your doctor. This method will eliminate the need for multiple finger tip pricks and noting down the readings and sharing with your doctors/nurses.
Your doctor will use this data to titrate the dosage and use the right combination of short acting and long acting medicines to effectively control your blood sugar levels.
Sleep Studies
Sleep apnoea is a less diagnosed medical problem that leads to several health problems. Your doctor will have asked you for a Sleep Study to understand your sleep pattern better. If you snore loud enough to keep others awake and wake up in the mornings feeling tired and unrested, this study is important for you. This is a home based test conducted at your home to assess your sleep pattern in a scientific manner and find the most suitable solution for you.
Home Blood Sample Collection
A phlebotomist (a person trained to draw blood) will fix up an appointment with you and come to your place for collecting blood samples. The samples are then sent to the lab for processing. Once the reports are ready you can receive it via Email, SMS or Whatsapp. Your doctor will also receive a copy of the same. So no more forgetting your reports! This facility is convenient for those who are short on time and require ‘fasting’ blood samples.
