Overview

After the initial examination of the patient,the dentist recommends scaling .

The debris from the food we eat along with the bacteria in our mouth cause plaque accumulation on the teeth,which gradually hardens to become calculus and is deposited along the tooth-gum border due to improper brushing habits and not getting cleaned regularly.

What happens during scaling?

The process of cleaning the plaque and removing calculus debris by an ultrasonic scaler(vibrational energy with water jet) with fine tips .

Frequency recommended

once or twice a year ,as this improves the general gum health and keeps cavities at bay.

What it does ?

Cleans the surface of tooth and improves gum health
,Stops bleeding gums,reduces bad breath,removes stains.

What doesn't it do?

1)It doens’t harm your gums or teeth.
2)It won’t cause senstivity,unless
You already have existing sensitivity.
3)Does not whiten your teeth.

After scaling,polishing is done to make the tooth surface smooth to keep deposits at bay.
