Overview

The tooth fillings or Restorations are done depending on the extent of cavity/decay involved. After examination,cleaning the decay/cavity or discolored part of tooth is removed using an airotor .
1)Amalgam fillings(metal colored)
2)Glass ionomer(tooth colored)
But universal shade ,one for all.
3) Light cure Restorations
Light bonded tooth colored materials ,that can be custom matched to individual tooth color.

These fillings will be recommended by your dentist only if you do not have any pain and when in doubt ,an Iopa xray(small dental x-ray) will be done to support the diagnosis.

As long as the patient maintains good oral hygiene, follows proper brushing techniques and instructions.
But remember nothing is permanent in life!!!
